Yaku

Last night was supposed to be a non-event. And I found a spicy little place that was perfect for my mood. Little did I know, it could have been the hot new spot. But Yaku is coming into the scene in its own superbly subtle way.

If you haven’t heard about it yet, you’re not the only one. Although it “opened” a bit over a week ago, the restaurant/lounge in Arlington hasn’t done much in the way of opening parties and introduction events. Aside from a friends and family soft opening, Yaku’s entrance as the newest in the line of the Latin Concepts enterprise has largely been word of mouth.

And that’s because the customers like it that way! It’s a neighborhood lounge with good eats and great atmosphere that’s improving every day; an urban chic experience perfect for loungy cocktails or fab fusion food.

Must haves: Cocktail start: Mango Mojito. Food: Mahi Mahi Tempura. A little birdie tells me the Noodles are fantastic, and though it may seem a little out of place with the Peruvian/Asian theme, I’d order the Fried Apple Wontons with Cinnamon ice cream to finish.
