Kate Marie’s Miss America Send-Off

Tonight we wished Kate Marie Grinold, Miss DC 2008, a cheerful good luck as she prepares to pack her bags and board the plane for Vegas. The Miss America competition will run January 21-23, with the Top 15 airing live on TLC January 24th at 8:00 PM. We’ll all be watching and holding our breath!
During the send-off, contestants have the opportunity to showcase their competition wardrobe and thank their many supporters. Kate Marie held her send-off at the Institute for World Politics, which was a new venue for almost all of us. She enjoyed the oohs and ahhs of the audience as she showed off two of her gowns and her talent costume and she posed for dozens of pictures. Who knows? We may have just had our picture taken with the next Miss America?!
