Sneakerball

Before we even get into any of the details, yes, the women really DO wear sneakers. Well, some of the more confident women do… this fashion conscious chica always wears heels, but at least I find heels with a little bow! SneakerBall is DC’s opportunity to have our heads in lofty charity gala-land while our feet are in more lighthearted kicks-ville.

Sneakerball is a unique “black-tie and sneakers” event that includes various interactive games and opportunities to meet and network with… professional athletes and Olympians, Greater Washington’s sports franchise ownership groups, leaders of the region’s business community and charitable partners. The Ball is an annual fall gala that celebrates the best of sports in the region, organized to benefit the Greater Washington Sports Alliance Foundation (which creates avenues for sports-oriented corporate philanthropy to enhance the region’s youth sports programs and facilities).

If you’re a sports fan, or if you’re not, you won’t want to miss the silliness and the sportsmanship on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 from 6:30 9:30 PM at the National Building Museum. And this year, for the first time ever, fans can vote for the 2009 SneakerBall award winners! Online voting will commence here on July 15th.

This is one of my favorite themes for a ball! They make high heel sneakers now too! I think I still have my Reebock Pumps and would LOVE to bust those out. What? Isn't vintage in! xxAngie
