Stuff We LIKE

We stopped by Likeblood’s meet and greet at Alero Restaurant hosted by SoBlu, Inc. on Tuesday night. Over guacamole and Greygoose, we talked with the group right before their show at the 930 Club.

Likeblood is a hip hop group that is as DC as it gets - alums of Duke Ellington High, shooting their latest big single Red Carpet around town, and staring in the indie film Jazz in the Diamond District about go-go music.

We learned insider info about the group – that they have personalities – Mbea da 1 is the comedian, Dre Strong a trained actor, and Young E is social media mogul. And like all true artists they prefer not to boxed into the genre of hip hop, instead noting to ‘make good music’ is their signature style.

We left the greet and headed to the packed 9:30 Club with the feeling that this hip hop group was great at performing, but maybe most successful because they treated each other, and their fans, like family. In fact, LIKEBLOOD.
