In DC: Trina Turk Trends California Cheer

Author w/ Trina Turk

With her sunny Californian cheer and vibrancy, Trina Turkhas a message for Washington – it’s time to get out of the winter neutral rut. She’s going to “inject our nation’s capital with color” because there is no reason to be shy. If anything, it is time to stand out and “be bold!”

On Saturday, DC fashionistas were given the opportunity to meet and greet the Los Angeles-based fashion designer during her spring and summer trunk show. Held in the Woodward and Bernstein room of the Donovan House, the show featured bright colors, stripes of all sizes, and the designer’s signature prints in addition to statement jewelry, headscarves, and swimwear. One of only a handful of trunk shows she has held out of state, the designer enjoyed an overwhelming response from Washingtonians who normally have to trek north to New York to view a complete collection.
Although temperatures in DC have yet to hit 75 degrees and days lounging by the pool still feel like a far-off dream, shoppers nabbed pieces for their warm weather wardrobes while noshing on Georgetown cupcakes and sipping champagne.
