Tech for ‘A Better Tomorrow’

by Casey Valerie Linsey
There are people who look back to the good ‘ole days and bemoan the fact that technology has completely ruined our lives. Rakia McDonald from the strategic communications firm Pinstripe Consulting is certainly not one of them.

“Technology is not a bad thing!” she explained during Tuesday evening’s cocktail affair, A Better Tomorrow. “Technology is a resource that can be used to effectively improve companies and organizations.”

Of course, attendees had to get off of their tech/social media and truly get social to enjoy the sunset views that served as a picturesque backdrop for the event held at the U Street boutique steakhouse Lost Society (co-hosted by Pinstripe Consulting and accounting firm Watford & Associates).  The event brought together Washington’s influential nonprofit, corporate, and government sectors to talk about technological boons and best practices.
Noted attendee Daniel Watford, “Technology is all about making your life easier. We can implement more effective processes and go paperless with technology.” True; an easier life, effective business, and environmental benefit is a better tomorrow!
