Toasting 2012, Where Will You Be?

Some people say the Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012.   So… since this is potentially the last New Year’s Eve we have to celebrate, you should party like it’s…. well, Prince was wrong about that one, too.  Regardless, here are some of our best bets for a 2012 New Year’s Bash!

Mad Men and Other Mania
This throwback to the 1960s borrows one of the year’s most talked about TV themes: Mad Men.  But there will be no smoking inside – or funny business with the secretaries!  Drink like Don Draper, nosh on heavy hors d’oeuvres and click those champagne glasses in honor of your next great idea… and the new year. Tickets currently $100.  Available here.

Rose Colored Glasses
Jack Rose Dining Saloon offers guests a chance to get their whiskey rocks off on NYE – after a pig roast earlier in the evening. The saloon puts on the usual holiday open bar, dancing and DJ party… for a less than usual price, $75.  Tickets here.

Ritzy, but Relaxed
As in past years, The W Hotel  and its POV Lounge offer a great Rooftop Soiree… and a great place to wake up for a hangover breakfast!  This night of open bar and passed apps is accompanied by live music and a photobooth to capture all of your memorable moments and midnight kisses.  $200 per person.  Tickets here.

Foodie and Flapper Fabulous
Strap on your dancing shoes for a Roaring 20s inspired bash at Lincoln Restaurant, complete with (optional) six course meal. You’ll taste, toast and leave with party favors after dancing the night away with a few hundred of your closets friends and would-be flappers.  No costume necessary.  Plate & Party tickets $150.  General Admission Bar Bash, $65.  Tickets here.

A Clandestine Celebration

Trap doors and secret passageways are just some of the perks of the party when you spend your New Year’s Eve night at the Mansion on O.  Dinner and desserts, a chocolate fountain, and a treasure hunt with prizes, too.  Tickets, $145, available here.

In the Archives

The historic City Tavern Club opens up for four floors of fun and cocktail craziness that even the Founding Fathers would appreciate.  $100 members, $125 non members.  Tickets here.

Just Pure Fun
Remember, there’s no need for fancy plans to start your New Year off right; you already know where we find fun!  Make the rounds of some of our regular night spots… including sponsors, Current and The Mighty Pint!…because, as we always say, going where everybody knows your name is really what makes a gathering great.

All great ideas. “The Foodie and Flapper Fabulous” sounds like something the Energizer Bunny would sponsor–sounds like a pretty lively and upbeat affair. Couldn’t agree with you more though that no matter where one celebrates, being around people you care about makes for an exciting gathering. Happy Holidays!
