Doonan Does DC: Claims Gay Men Don’t Get Fat

Gay Men Don’t Get Fat according to Simon Doonan, Creative Ambassador At-Large of Barney’s NY, who made an appearance (his one and only in DC!) Wednesday night at the W Hotel’s rooftop ballroom on a book tour of the same name.

News of Doonan’s coming may have actually outshined his arrival, if that’s possible, as the wardrobe idol was met with just the perfect amount of approval-seekers and suffered from only a minor case of autograph claw before descending his throne — yes, Doonan had a floral pedestal of honor — at event’s end to snap pics with the heartiest of partiers.

A largely homosexual male crowd (survey says that sadly, Simon, gay men can get fat!) enjoyed cocktails, posing for photo booth pictures, and hounding the author for a thumbs up on their chosen threads.
